The 16-year-old from the Grieskirchen district was riding his bike on the Michaelnbach-Stauff state road (L525) towards Waizenkirchen at around 5:30 p.m. A moped was driving in the opposite direction at the same time. The driver, a 15-year-old from the Grieskirchen district, wanted to turn left but failed to see the cyclist.
The 16-year-old hit the windshield of the moped and was thrown onto the road. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the moped were not injured in the collision.
