According to the police, the bedroom window was probably open and the 19-month-old boy fell from the third floor of the apartment building. The child was flown to Vienna General Hospital, where he died.

The parents were in the apartment at the time of the accident. They have not yet been questioned, the police said in response to a request. The boy probably fell out of the window when no one was watching. Investigations are underway for negligent homicide.
