Storm in the Czech Republic – One dead and injured

In the municipality of Bobnice near Nymburk, a 57-year-old man was killed by a falling branch in front of his house on Saturday evening, a spokesman for the emergency services told CNN Prima News. In the Prague district of Branik, a man was seriously injured and his companion slightly injured when a tree fell on them.

Mass panic in party tent

A mass panic broke out in a party tent at a music festival in Jihlava, around 100 kilometers southeast of Prague, on Sunday night. When the power went out and the roof moved, people rushed to the exit, police said. Seven people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, the CTK agency reported, citing organizers and rescue workers. Originally, twelve people were injured.

Bouncy castle torn down in Poland

Rescue workers were also called upon in neighboring Poland. In Radgoszcz in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, a gust of wind blew away two bouncy castles for children. Four children and young people between the ages of three and 18 were injured, the PAP news agency reported. In West Pomerania, a scout camp was evacuated. Firefighters were called out to several locations to clear fallen trees from the streets.
