The winner of the ninth edition of the “Gemeinsam im Boot” dragon boat charity race organized by Club 41 Styria and SV Forelle Steyr was not visible to the naked eye this time. It was only when the photo at the finish line was taken that it was clear that the Aigner men had won the final by a whisker ahead of Mitterhuemer Elektro and Obermair. In the women’s race, defending champion Mayr Bau won ahead of the Mountain Girls and Moore SKZ Tax Power. In total, 25 teams were on the Enns this year in fantastic weather, having lots of fun and showing a lot of passion for a good cause. “The exact net proceeds have not yet been determined, but we have again raised a considerable sum that we can donate to our charity projects for people who urgently need help,” emphasize C41 President Christian Huber and his predecessor Michael Obermair. In the club year that has just ended, more than 30,000 euros were donated to charitable causes. Lebenshilfe received part of the money for a client outing. Forelle Steyr uses its share for youth work in the club. After the dragon boat race, the success was duly celebrated by participants and organizers until late into the night. And plans for next year were also made. “The charity anniversary is on the agenda,” says C41 chief coordinator Leo Kaltenreiner.
