Unemployment fell among young people, but rose among middle-class people

The other younger group, comprised of citizens between 25 and 29 years old, also saw a drop in the unemployment rate, as it went from 11.2% to 10.4%.

Unemployment fell among women despite persistent gender gap

On the other hand, unemployment also fell among the womengoing from 10.2% to 9.3%, although the gender gap in the workplace persists. Among men, the rate rose from 8% to 7.9%.

The unemployment figures for women show a reduction in the activity rate at the national level, which fell from 56.1% to 55.8%, while the employment rate rose from 50.4% to 50.6%.

At the national level, the activity, employment and unemployment rates stood at 63.9%, 58.5% and 8.5%, respectively. They had been 64.1%, 58.3% and 9.0% in April, respectively.
