Trump also underwent a CT scan of his head while being treated for the wound by doctors at a hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania, he said.
“He will undergo further evaluations, including a comprehensive hearing exam, as needed,” the doctor added.
Jackson, who retired from the Navy as a rear admiral last year, was first appointed to the White House medical unit under former President George W. Bush (2001-2009) and then became the president’s physician in 2013 under President Barack Obama (2009-2017).
But he gained national fame after effusively praising Trump’s health and “great genes” in 2018, suggesting that “if he had a healthier diet over the last 20 years, he could live to be 200.”
Trump soon nominated him to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, but Jackson withdrew his name from consideration following allegations that he had improperly distributed medications and sometimes got drunk on the job.
