The woman had left a hiking trail on the way down from the “Gampe Thaya” mountain pasture to photograph four cows lying down. As she approached the animals, one cow stood up and poked her in the thigh with its horn, police reported.

Her 33-year-old companion from Germany came to her aid and brought her back to the hiking trail. She was treated by the mountain rescue team and then flown to the hospital.
