A couple from the Ried im Innkreis district wanted to hike through the “Feuertal” to the Rinnerhütte in Ebensee on Saturday. The starting point was the Ebenseer Hochkogelhütte, and the path was marked.
At an altitude of 1,800 meters, the woman twisted her ankle at around 12:45 p.m. and injured herself so badly that she could no longer climb down. Her husband (39) made an emergency call to the Ebensee mountain rescue service.
Due to the impassable terrain, the emergency medical helicopter “Martin 3” was alerted to rescue the injured. The injured person was taken to hospital.
