At around 9:15 a.m., the pensioner was walking from the church in the direction of Rosengasse on the town square in Mattighofen. She was observed by a man. The perpetrator followed the victim on an e-scooter and stopped her near the house at Rosengasse 2 and demanded her handbag.
Because the woman did not comply with the demand, the unknown man pulled out a knife about 20 centimeters long and threatened the pensioner with it. A local resident noticed the incident and shouted at the perpetrator. The man then fled on his e-scooter towards the town square. The 83-year-old remained unharmed.
Because the incident was only reported to the police two hours late, the manhunt has so far been unsuccessful. The Mattighofen police are asking witnesses – and especially the resident mentioned – to come forward in person or by calling 0591334207.
