A 32-year-old woman from Mühlviertel skidded with her car and ended up in the oncoming lane, probably due to loose chippings. In addition, overtaking was actually prohibited in that area.
After a side-on collision with the car of a 77-year-old woman from Linz, the woman’s car collided head-on with another car from the Czech Republic, in which a 65-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man were sitting. All seven people involved – the 32-year-old driver’s car also contained her five-year-old son and her 22-year-old partner – were injured, some seriously.
The rescue helicopter could no longer fly due to a defect, so all injured people were taken to hospitals in ambulances.
