The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Madurodecided to suspend the social network X for ten days in the country, after accusing its owner, Elon Musk, of inciting hatred and fascism in the midst of an “attack” against his re-election, in the midst of a context of strong tension, with allegations of electoral fraud by the opposition and massive protests.
“I have signed a point of account with the proposal made with Conatel”, the agency responsible for telecommunications in the country, to “take down the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, “for 10 days of circulation in Venezuela,” said the Venezuelan president at an event at the Miraflores presidential palace in Caracas.
“X out of Venezuela for 10 days!” he shouted in front of hundreds of followers. “Elon Musk Out!”
The president, who accused the tycoon of violating “all the rules” of his own social network by “inciting hatred and fascism”noted that during this period of time the “definitive administrative measure” for the operation of this social network in the country.

The president’s decision comes after his clashes with Elon Muskowner of the social network, who also announced that Maduro would no longer have the gray verified icon. Nicolas Maduro called to boycott WhatsApp
In line with this measure, the Venezuelan president also called in recent days for a boycott against WhatsApp, by reporting that his supporters had received threats through that platform.
