11.7% of Uruguayans changed their voting intention following the results of the internal elections of June 30 and the definition of the presidential formulas by the political parties that won that electoral stage.

The data comes from the latest survey of voting intentions by the consulting firm Nómade, which states that at least 1 in 10 citizens said they will vote for another party in the general elections of the month of October.

After the results of the voting, 11.7% said they would change their vote, while 83.5% said they had not thought about doing so. The remaining 4.8% said they did not know or preferred not to respond to the change.

With this data, the projections for October based on the results of the primaries became even more difficult, since it was a non-mandatory event in which only 35.80% of the electoral roll participated, marking a new historic low for attendance at the elections.

The National Party falls in voting intention after the definition of the formula

48.3% of respondents who indicated that they will change their vote said they were voting for the National Partybut they will not vote for the Alvaro Delgado-Valeria Ripoll formula in October.

This confirms the trend shown by the first Opción Consultores survey after the primaries, which projected a fall from 28% to 20% for the traditional party, after the appointment of the former union leader Ripoll as vice-presidential candidate. A choice that, according to a Cifra survey, was disapproved of by 25% of the political force’s voters.

On the other hand, 14.9% said that they previously voted for the Broad Frontwhile 5% said they voted for the Colorado Party and 7.5% voted for one of the other parties.
