In his speech, Ripoll assured that since it was known that he would share the electoral binomial with Alvaro Delgadobegan a campaign of falsehoods against him in an attempt to undermine the prestige of the political force.

“Do I have bills? Yes. Do I pay rent? Yes, and that is not a discredit,” said Ripoll, who was pointed out as an “irrecoverable debtor,” allegedly by the Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU), where he previously served. “The Communist Party operates like this,” he said at the time, stating that his entire family was also “investigated.”
“They can hit me and attack me again and again, and again and again I will get up, they can look into my family, luckily I have a small family because if not the months of the electoral campaign would not last,” said the vice presidential candidate and added: “This level of persecution and harassment that I am suffering is not suffered by anyone in politics, of investigating my family, of seeing if I have debts, of seeing what I do in each day of my life shows how nervous they are.”
Along the same lines, Ripoll said that the FA “is nervous” because the white electoral binomial “is a popular formula”, due to the fact that “it is the one that represents the Uruguayans.”
“This formula is the one that leads us to a better future,” said Laura Raffo
On the other hand, the leader of the PN and former presidential candidate, Laura Raffocommented in a press conference that the Delgado-Ripoll formula “is the one that leads us to a better future”, leaving behind the controversy over being left out of the electoral tandem after coming second in the internal elections.
In that sense, the Senator Jorge Gandiniwho came third within the political force, stressed that Ripoll can “contribute a lot” when it comes to attracting undecided voters who “do not belong” to any party.
