Four fire departments were called to a demanding operation in St. Marien late on Monday afternoon due to the heat: a fire had broken out on the upper floor of a double garage for unknown reasons. The flames threatened to spread to the adjacent residential building.
The emergency services, who were alerted at around 5:30 p.m., prevented the fire from spreading further by using targeted fire-fighting operations from inside and outside. The fire was under control within a short time. In order to completely extinguish the last embers, the roof of the garage had to be opened with chainsaws.
