The initiative received 27 affirmative votes out of a total of 27 in the Senate in the morning and was validated in the same way in the afternoon. House of Representatives, with the votes of the 92 deputies present to decide on financial assistance to Casmu, after the intervention ordered by the government with maintenance of the authorities.
The initiative reached the Upper House after the commission of Health integrated with Tax authorities approved the project unanimously on Tuesday, albeit with modifications.
Change in the project at the request of the Broad Front
He Broad Front had already requested some modifications and managed to prevail in some conditions of the first article, but mainly in the formation of a monitoring commission for the restructuring plan.

Regarding the scope of the initiative, the legislator of the National Party, Jorge Gandini, He said that the money that will be given to the mutual fund “is not only for its current operation, but to maintain its operation while the institution restructures its liabilities and presents a proposal that improves its financial conditions in the future.”
The Casmu intervention
The conflict in Casmu originated from debts of around 100 million dollars. In turn, the Minister of Public Health, Karina Rando, He referred to the intervention arranged by the Executive and pointed out that “it is planned for a year” and warned: “We think that this will somehow reverse the economic-financial situation so that there is no time, but that the mutual society can continue walking alone.”
However, Rando clarified: “It is unlikely that they will remain on zero, because the indebtedness The amount that the institution has is considerably more than what is being requested, which means that the debts will continue. But it is hoped that a balance will be reached in which suppliers are paid so that they can continue to operate.”
However, the president of the mutual fund, Raul Rodriguez, He repeatedly stated that Casmu is a good payer and that “no one can claim anything from it” in relation to payment compliance.
