The British redhead also pulled out his bag of tricks as the headliner on day 1 of the Frequency Festival in St. Pölten. In front of 45,000 fans, he delighted them with a one-and-a-half-hour fireworks display of hits – twelve years after his Frequency premiere.

Because 2012 was Ed Sheeran was already a guest at the festival once. Back then, he performed an afternoon slot in front of around 200 spectators. This is another way of describing a career from a little-known newcomer to a superstar.
The spark jumped over with “Castle On The Hill”, which the 33-year-old also had as the opener on his set list. Shortly afterwards, he explained the indispensable loop station to all those who were attending one of his concerts for the first time. It’s fascinating how the musician builds up his songs layer by layer with the live loops and thus sounds like a band.
One-man show in front of a huge audience
Sheeran said he played his first songs like “The A-Team” in London pubs and nobody came. Times have changed. Now this one-man show works well in front of huge audiences. A few fireworks effects and visuals did the rest.
Directly before the headliner’s performance, Calum Scott the stage – only harmoniously, the British pop singer, who became known in 2015 as a participant in the TV casting show “Britain’s Got Talent”, has already accompanied his compatriot’s entire tour. However, anyone who hoped that Scott and Sheeran would sing “You Are The Reason” together, as they often do, was disappointed.
