This Wednesday, the leader of the union center assured Channel 10 that, in his internal analysis, the PIT-CNT understands that “there is a democratic deterioration” in Venezuelain a context of commercial “blockade” and an “enormous geopolitical conflict” around the Caribbean country.

“Obviously (we) call for respect, for the self-determination of the people and for the necessary transparency,” Abdala said in this regard.

When asked about the official position of the Uruguayan government, which recognized the opposition candidate as the winner Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutiathe union leader insisted again: “We consider that, to exhort transparency, the popular will and the self-determination of the peoples.”

“It is a bit of the definition that we have been taking, which although it is not written in a specific resolution, it is the discussion that we had in the Secretariat of the PIT-CNT“, he continued.

“The PIT-CNT does not give an inch to the harassment of American imperialism”

On the other hand, he argued that the PIT-CNT is “absolutely aware of the geopolitical issue” and does not give “one millimeter” to the “belligerent actions linked to the blockade, (and) to the harassment promoted by American imperialism”, but neither does it commit “servility” with “the democratic deterioration that is observed” –

“We try to have an independent, legitimate and, naturally, deeply democratic opinion,” concluded the president of the PIT-CNT about it.
