Measured in dollars, the median property transaction gained 0.63% in May.
The median transaction price of the estate recorded an accumulated variation of 11.53% in the last 12 months (to May), according to the latest technical bulletin of Real Estate Activity Indicators (IAI) prepared by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) for the period May-June.

As of last May, the median of prices in dollars stood at $80,000 after gaining 0.63% since April, thus accumulating 11.43% for the moving year. At the same time of the year in 2023, the monthly and annual regression had been 4.36% for both cases.
As for the number of transactionsthese fell by 4.84% between the months of May and June, meaning an accumulated annual negative variation of 4.22% after totaling some 4,290 new sales, according to information from the National Registry Office.
Last year, in June 2023, the monthly variation had been negative by 0.71%, while the accumulated annual variation registered a growth of 8.29%.

Of the 4,290 property sales, 33.29% belonged to the city of Montevideo. Cannelloniranked second with 17.60% and Maldonado completed the podium with 14.62%. These departments are followed by Cologne with 4.71% and Rocha with 4.10% of transactions.
At the national level, the number of properties registered for sale was 6,406 as of June, with the aforementioned 4,290 units registered, 1,922 priority reserves, and 194 other types of transactions. Thus, 66.97% of the transactions corresponded to purchase and sale registrations, while priority reserves accounted for 30% of the total.
