Who can access free glasses from PAMI?
PAMI offers to the retirees, pensioners, family members or guardians a procedure to obtain free pairs of glasses in 2024. For the delivery of the item, the affiliated person must go to the optician.
To access the benefit of glasses for retirees must be submitted:
- National Identity Document.
- Membership credential.
- Electronic medical order from an ophthalmology specialist in the name of the affiliated person, stating the prescription for the glasses, signature, stamp clarifying the medical specialty and registration number. The prescription is valid for 90 days.
- FIN scale for first-time bifocal use: requested at the discretion of each Agency. Please note that if the affiliated person does not adapt, separate near and far glasses will not be provided.

How to access free glasses from PAMI
To request 100% free glasses, PAMI beneficiaries must request a medical appointment with an eye doctor.
“Once the primary care physician issues the electronic medical referral order, an appointment must be coordinated within a period of maximum of 90 days“, explained PAMI.
