After the rain of the past few days, the Linz professional fire brigade and the volunteer fire brigades are taking stock. The OÖN provide an overview of the current situation in and around Linz.

Fire departments in Linz: There were 118 operations in the city from Friday to Monday afternoon – 30 of these were carried out by the volunteer fire departments in Ebelsberg, Pichling, St. Magdalena and Pöstlingberg. The main problems were cellar flooding, there were a few mudslides and trees had to be removed. “That is the virtue of the fire department: we help,” says Mario Leidinger from the Linz professional fire department.
All necessary measures were taken in good time, strictly in accordance with the flood plan. The emergency services removed the bridges at the Diesenleithenbach. “This was not necessary during the flood in June because the water came from the Danube. This time it came from the streams – there could have been blockages caused by washed-up trees.”
