A couple was arrested for sending threatening emails to the AMIA website

The suspects were a 41-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman who had sent a message last November threatening them with the following message: “Jewish sons of bitches, we are going to kill you.”

The investigation began on March 14 of this year, when the National Criminal and Federal Correctional Court No. 6, in charge of Ariel Lijosent a letter to the Federal Police with the request to make a request addressed to the firm Google Inc. to provide the technical details of an email account from which the threats had been sent.

The investigation to arrest the couple from La Plata who sent threats to the AMIA website

From this, agents of the Department of Anti-Terrorism Investigation Unit (DUIA)which depends on the Federal Investigations Superintendency of the PFAevaluated the connection logs and data provided.

Thanks to this, they were able to detect two cell phones with registered IMEI, where the email from which the threat was sent was configured.

Once the couple was identified as the owners of the telephone lines, Lijo ordered a raid in which they were arrested.

In the procedure, the police officers seized five notebooks, four cell phones and a SIM card for subsequent forensic data analysis.

Now, the man and the woman were placed at the disposal of Justice, as well as the seized elements, under charges of “public intimidation.”
