Sick, weak, hungry, their fur sticky with dirt, their eyes inflamed – and all alone: That’s how three kittens, just a few weeks old, were found in front of the municipal office in Auerbach (Braunau district). The foundlings were taken to the Pfotenhilfe Lochen animal shelter, where they are now being nursed back to health. “It was only during the intake examination that we discovered the full extent of the disaster,” says Pfotenhilfe boss Johanna Stadler. It turned out that the cats were suffering from severe eye and ear infections, severe colds, parasite infestations and severe diarrhea.
