A total of over 150,000 animals are to be killed and, according to the country, transported away in around 40 truck trains. According to the Army, the assistance mission is expected to last until Sunday.
In Biberbach, 137,000 and 9,000 animals will be killed by a company in two companies on Friday, the state said in response to a request. The removal was planned for Saturday. 12,000 turkeys are to be killed in Ernsthofen this weekend.
Lock built
Uniformed members of the decontamination group of the NBC defense company Korneuburg are helping to contain the virus. According to a press release, a lock will be set up at affected companies. Before vehicles that dispose of dead animals leave the infected farm, they are disinfected by the soldiers in the lock. This particularly applies to the wheel arches and underbody of the vehicles as well as the containers in which the dead animals are transported.
