Two men reported having been scammed in Jujuy for a sum greater than $2 million. The criminals hacked their WhatsApp and credit card account, through telephone communications. These are two events, one in the capital of Jujuy and the other in the city of San Pedro.

The first victim, residing in the capital of Jujuy, received WhatsApp messages from his brother. In the messages, he requested the sum of 810 thousand pesos to pay for a motorcycle and, after trusting, the victim made a transfer of the requested amount.

However, hours later the victim received a notice from his family member that his messaging platform had been hacked.

The total sum of the scam in Jujuy amounted to $2 million 510 thousand. Due to the fact, andThe victim went to the General Directorate of Investigations to report what happened.

The second case had the city of San Pedro as its epicenter, when the victim received a phone call from a person who identified himself as an employee of a well-known credit card. In the communication, the alleged company operator requested personal information.

In the call, he told him that the purpose was to solve an apparent problem in his account. He then identified himself as a representative of the company and requested a loan in the name of the cardholder for the sum of 1 million 700 thousand pesos.

The victim had not realized it, but when the notification reached his cell phone he was able to verify the request for the financial amount and that it was transferred to another man’s account. Finally, when realizing this situation, The victim went to the Investigation Brigade of the city of San Pedrowhere the corresponding complaint was filed.
