In the 2025 season Sainz will be the replacement of the Argentine driver Franco Colapintoand will become the new teammate of Thai Alex Albon.

Despite the rumors that have emerged in recent weeks, the Argentine has not yet obtained a seat for next season, and if this possibility is confirmed, he will continue at Williams as a reserve driver.
Colapinto replaced the American Logan Sargeant starting with the Italian Grand Prix, and then participated in Azerbaijan, Singapore, the United States (Austin), Mexico and Brazil. And it will complete the season with competitions in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
