The 2% peso depreciation anticipated by the Government for December (“crawling peg”), added to an increase in the price of a barrel of Brent (reference point for Argentina), would explain the adjustment. The increase will also depend a lot on what the state-owned YPF ends up doing, which has the largest portion of the market.

Fuel sales rebound, but are still widely below 2023
The fuel sales showed a monthly rebound in October of 7.57% but remains for below in the year-on-year comparisonaccumulating 11 months in decline, presenting a decrease of 8.8% compared to the same month of 2023.
The interannual fall in the tenth month of the year was less than the 11.77% decrease exhibited in Septemberand was led by gasoline premium, with a year-on-year decline of 19.55%, followed by traditional diesel, with a decrease of 17.08%, the diesel with a lower amount of sulfur, with a decline of 3.65%. Sales of super gasoline, for their part, rose 0.13%.
The data disseminated by the portal Suppliers correspond to a report of the Secretary of Energybased on the records of the companies in the sector, which last month shipped 1,434,689.06 cubic meters of gasoline and diesel, without counting the figures from the refinery DAPSA, compared to a volume of 1,601,452.68 cubic meters registered in October 2023.
