“El Jefe” and the president of the Chamber of Deputies made the libertarian party official with an event in that province. Both gave names and surnames to those responsible for arming the space.

La Libertad Avanza (LLA) became official as a party in Salta with the visit of the general secretary of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and Martín Menem, president of LLA in La Rioja. The launch served to give visibility to those chosen for the provincial assembly of that space and to close the door to the governor. Gustavo Saenz and the national senator Juan Carlos Romerowho were identified as close collaborators who would help consolidate the growth of “the lions of the north.” “Argentine politics is changing and our priority is to advance with the principles that unite us, not with those who come from other political traditions,” Menem said during the press conference.

The activity took place this last Monday the 16th, in a hotel in the center of the capital of Salta. The former national representative Alfredo Olmedomember of Parlasur, and the national deputy Emilia Orozcoreceived “El Jefe” and Menem at the airport. Later the national deputy joined him Carlos Zapata. From that moment, none of the three detached themselves from the Buenos Aires duo that landed to order the LLA. The hotel hall, with capacity for 400 people, was too small, so many fans of the space stayed outside.waiting for some contact with the leaders but to no avail. Likewise, the climate of fervor was present throughout the short time that the libertarian launch lasted.

Prior to the words of Karina Milei and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, there was a press conference starring the Riojan, Olmedo, Zapata and Orozco. One of the first questions to Menem was about possible candidacies for the 2025 legislative elections. The response was clear: “We are not talking about candidacies in advance, decisions about candidates will be made at the end of the process, when the lists are closed. For now, the most important thing is to maintain the work of those who were on the ground from the beginning, such as Emilia Orozco, Carlos Zapata and Alfredo Olmedo”. A clear message to the outside but also to the inside of the LLA, by giving names and surnames to those in charge in the libertarian force of Salta.

The question about candidates was not minor, considering that in 2025 in Salta the seats currently occupied by the Peronists will be renewed for the Senate of the Nation. Nora Gimenez and Sergio Leavyfrom Unión por la Patria, and former governor Juan Carlos Romero, from the Cambio Federal bloc, an ally of the Casa Rosada. In the Chamber of Deputies, three of the seven seats will be up for grabs, upon completion of the mandates of Emiliano Estradafrom Union for the Homeland; the libertarian Zapata and Pamela Callettifrom Federal Innovation. The parties that nominated Giménez, Leavy and Romero are not going through their best moment, so LLA is excited about a good election that will allow them to increase the number of representatives in Congress. It is almost an open secret that Olmedo, who used the characteristic yellow color before La Libertad Avanza, will aspire to reach the Senate.

Other questions revolved around the figures of Governor Gustavo Sáenz and National Senator Juan Carlos Romero, about the possibility of them joining the LLA or becoming close collaborators in the formation of the party, beyond the fact that they move in fine tune. with the Casa Rosada. Regarding the first, Menem did not hesitate and pointed out: “it has its own seal, its own path and its own references. Decisions about alliances will be made at the time but Sáenz is not a reference for our party in Salta.” And as for Romero, he stated that he comes from another political space and “although I have enormous respect for him, Argentine politics is changing and our priority is to advance with the principles that unite us, not with those who come from other political traditions.”

The main event had Representative Orozco, Menem and “El Jefe” as speakers. “We need to fill Congress in 2025 with committed legislators to return more freedoms to Argentines,” was one of Karina Milei’s most applauded phrases. “They told us many things at the beginning, that this was impossible, but thanks to our convictions and the support of all the Argentines who voted for us we managed to reach the Presidency,” he said.

The only imbalance that social networks had as a sounding board was the complaint of Alba Quintarad honorem coordinator of the Ministry of Justice of the Nation in this province, who is active in space and is close to Olmedo, it is noted. She reported in her accounts that she was excluded from the event. According to the official’s posts, she completed the accreditation steps to participate but was informed that “the quotas were already filled.” “Someone from my party prohibits me from attending the official launch of La Libertad Avanza in Salta. It is regrettable that they handle themselves in this way; non-admission without an objective reason is discrimination,” Quintar published on his social networks.

Perhaps for that reason and when some repercussions of the complaint were already known, deputy Zapata said in a contact with the media when he was asked about the growth of the party: “in Salta, Libertad Avanza is a solid space and we do not need second brands. “We don’t need cats that perceive themselves as lions.”
