It is the first time that the gallery located on Viamonte street in downtown Buenos Aires participates in this fair considered the leading global platform for art and artists from the Middle East and the Global South.
There will be more than 30 first-time entrants and “more than 50 percent of the gallery’s program comes from the Global South, reaffirming Art Dubai’s position as the leading market for art from that region,” organizers explained.
Other galleries making their debut at this Emirati fair are Andréhn-Schiptjenko from Stockholm, Foro.Space from Bogotá, Maruani Mercier from Brussels, P420 from Bologna, Rhizome from Algiers and Window Project from Moscow.

The fair’s artistic director, Spaniard Pablo del Val, said “Art Dubai is a truly global fair and this 2022 edition will be the largest to date. The fact that much of the program comes from the Global South highlights the growing interest in strengthening the gallery scene beyond the traditional centers of the art world.
For his part, the Argentine gallery owner said: “We have had an excellent work experience with Pablo del Val, with whom we sat down and reflected on what proposals from our program would fit best in the Arab market and why. An unexpected but undoubtedly appropriate job at a slower and more precise, more selective and interesting post-pandemic pace.
This section will include 17 international galleries and platforms, examining the context in which NFTs, cryptocurrencies, video art and virtual reality (VR) have grown since the rise of digital art in the 1980s.
Within the framework of the debates on the arts, a new edition of the Global Art Forum of Art Dubai will be held, entitled “This is the Picture”, dedicated to exploring the environments of digital artifacts and cryptocurrencies.
