The house facade was badly damaged in the first fire in March. In the second fire directly in front of the pensioner’s home, it was only thanks to the intervention of the professional fire department that something worse could be prevented.

The 67-year-old came into the courtroom on Thursday with a walker. The judge wants to know why he set the two containers on fire. He often has to ask the questions twice and speak loudly so that the defendant can understand him.
No kick from actions
“Because I was stupid,” he says when asked by the judge. He does not give a specific reason for his actions. The arson apparently didn’t give him a kick. When asked by an alderman whether the arson was a cry for help or attention, the man nodded.
