Up to now there have been two bosses at the Linzer Posthof: Gernot Kremser for music and Willi Steiner for cabaret, dance and literature. Since the 64-year-old Steiner will be retiring at the end of the year after a long illness, the structures of the city’s own cultural center have now been revamped. Gernot Kremser (53) runs the Posthof alone and continues to manage the music department. From now on, three curators will assist him in Steiner’s areas. “We want to open up our program and win new audiences,” says Kremser.

The internationally renowned dancer and choreographer Silke Grafinger, who runs her own dance company in Linz, will lead the Tanztage from 2026. She wants to redefine the series: “It should become more interdisciplinary,” says the Linzer native, who is also considering new formats.

Record: 149,123 visitors came in 2024

Lisa-Maria Neumüller’s signature can already be seen in the cabaret category. She has been part of the Posthof team since 2016 and works in the artistic operations office. She wants to expand the program and, for example, have comedians or social media stars perform. Claudia Hofer is now responsible for literature. She studied German and Romance languages, worked in the book trade (Alex bookstore, Linz) and at Buch.Wien and currently works as a teacher. She wants to introduce new formats, such as discussions or a cooking show with Silvia Schneider.

In 2024, the Posthof achieved a visitor record with 149,123 guests on 222 evenings. The occupancy rate was 88 percent. For comparison: In 2023, 121,937 guests were counted at 219 evenings. The artistic budget this year is 260,000 euros. There is also income from the tickets.
