The president of the United States spoke at the Economic Forum and warned that if they do not move manufacturing to their country, they will have to pay a tariff.
The new president of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke this Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos and promised global elites lower taxes If they move manufacturing to the United States and threatened to impose tariffs if they don’t.
Although the magnate did not travel to Switzerland to participate in the forum, he did so via video from the White House, from where he stated that he had a “massive mandate” from the American people to bring change. In that sense, he presented his invitation, carrot-stick style, to private investors.
“Come manufacture your product in the United States and we will offer you some of the lowest taxes of any nation on earth“Trump said. “But if they don’t make their product in the United States, which is their prerogative, then very simply, they will have to pay a tariff – different amounts – but a tariff, which will direct hundreds of billions of dollars and even trillions of dollars to our treasury to strengthen our economy and pay off the debt under the Trump administration,” said the Republican.
Trump was introduced by the founder of Davos, Klaus Schwab, who noted that the return and agenda of the North American president “have been at the focus of our discussions this week.” In that line, invited him to speak on staff for next year.
Trump on the war between Russia and Ukraine: “We really have to stop that war.”
On the other hand, the president of the United States once again referred to the war between Russia and Ukraine, which he promised to finish before taking office. Now, reaffirmed that it remained a top priority.
“One very important thing: I would really like to be able to meet with President Putin soon and end that war,” Trump declared to the Davos audience. “We really have to stop that war. That war is horrible”he added.

Previously, the magnate had blamed the alliance OPEC+ of oil-exporting countries for having kept the price of oil too high for much of the nearly three years of the war. The thing is Oil sales are the main driver of Moscow’s economy.
“If the price fell, the war between Russia and Ukraine would end immediately“, he indicated, while blaming the alliance: “They are very responsible to some extent for what is happening.”
Oil prices have fallen lately, due to weaker than expected demand from China and an increase in production from countries such as Brazil and Argentina that are not in OPEC+.
