The Czech set off from Krippenstein with a group of tourers at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The tour was supposed to take the Czechs over the Rumplerrunde to the Hoher Dachstein. After a few hours of walking in the Mitterstein area, a member of the group no longer felt well and turned around. The exhausted man finally made an emergency call at 5:39 p.m.

Nine mountain rescuers from the Obertraun location set out and found the tourer at 7:30 p.m. in the area of ​​the Niederer Rumpler, above the former Oberfeld army barracks, at an altitude of approx. 1,927 meters. It was only with great effort that the Czech was able to cover the rest of the way back to the Oberfeld barracks.
