At around 7:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, the emergency call received the Linz professional fire brigade. A room fire had occurred in a multi -party house in Paracelsusstrasse. Fire broke out in the kitchen in an apartment on the ground floor, presumably through burned dishes. The flames quickly spread to the furniture.

Post employee saved tenants
The fire brigade alerted a postman who happened to be on site. He had noticed how a young woman tried to save himself from the burning apartment. Since she probably had no longer managed to leave it through the front door due to the strong smoke in the small apartment, she squeezed her feet through an open window under a closed roller shutter. The post employee reacted immediately and helped the woman to get through the window at a height of about two meters. He was able to pack them on his feet and pull them out with full strength. The heavy roller shutter closed again behind her. The tenant was handed over to the rescue with suspicion of flue gas poisoning.
