Hibernation is over. Last week, the regional leagues kicked the spring season in the football sub-house. The start in the Upper Austria league and the national leagues will follow next weekend. Especially in the Landesliga West, the second half of the season promises a lot of tension. The first six teams only separate three points, and the field is also closely competitive at the other end of the table. At the start, the OÖN provides a compact overview of the seven Innviertel Landesliga representatives.

As the only Innviertel team, the Andorfer is the first pursuer of autumn champion Peuerbach to have realistic chances of the championship title. The distance to the league leader is two points, but the field behind it is also tight. Gschwandt is only three points behind Peuerbach as the sixth in the table. “The close situation makes a forecast of who will play for the title until the end. It will be crucial who is best from the starting blocks and can start a run,” says Andorf coach Bernhard Straif. The FCA will be guest at the fifth in the table in Grieskirchen at the start on Saturday. “This will be a great yardstick that will show us where we stand,” says Straif, who hopes for more efficiency in front of the opposing goal in the second half of the season than in autumn.
