Sankt Martin. Marianne Kollmann from St. Martin im Innkreis traveled through the world for decades to help people. Even at the age of 83, she is still motivated to support others. “I visited numerous third world countries in my life and saw a lot of sorry. Some of the people in these countries live under inhumane conditions. Every euro support they get is important,” says Marianne Kollmann and adds: “I have not only supported projects in other countries over the years, but also in Austria.”

The need to help people in need come from their mother. “I was brought up, not to hurt anyone and take other consideration,” says Kollmann, who was awarded the Solidarity Prize in the Lebenswerk category exactly ten years ago for her work. The money for their aid projects was taken by video and slide lectures by Kollmann’s trips and through private donations. The majority of the donations were lucrated by events by the St. Martin singing and play group. The group launched Kollmann about 40 years ago. The play group no longer exists.
