The Wöhrsee in the Bavarian neighboring town of Burghausen is a popular place of excursion, also for Innviertler. Cyclists, dog owners and walkers are often around the lake, especially when the weather is nice. This is exactly what makes a beaver a problem: it could endanger people’s safety. On the one hand through gnawed trees that could overturn, on the other hand by excavations of beaver tubes under the walks. Cyclists or strollers could break into them and seriously injure themselves, according to the city of Burghausen, precisely because the cavities are usually not recognizable among the paths, but only slip through stress. Around the lake, partly also on a slope, there are also worth preserving, large, old and nature conservation trees, the city says.
