The harbor tour on the MS Linzer, who is offered three times a day from Wednesday to Sunday, is richer. Because from Easter you can also book a combination tour at the Donauschiffahrt Wurm & Noé, which enables a scope for shipping and 50-minute leadership to the open-air graffiti gallery.
“We always had inquiries from guests of the harbor tour who wanted to visit the Mural Harbor,” said Margit Noé. For this, however, it needed a jetty in the harbor. This option has now been created about a year and a half after Noé talked to the lack of one with port director Harald Kronsteiner.
This not only expects excursion shipping a thrust, but also Mural Harbor boss Leonhard Gruber. “This is a great story,” he said when presenting the new offer in Linz. 14 years after the first “painting” of a facade in the port area and eleven years after the Mural Harbor has been launched, there is a wide range of tours through the Murals and Graffitis gallery. “From the various guided routes, this is the most elegant,” said Gruber.
A success story
It was not foreseeable that the “fun project” (Gruber) could become a tourist service. But the Mural Harbor, which currently leads eleven guides in special routes, is a success story. In addition, the area with the more than 300 murals is now so large that you cannot experience all the wall paintings in a tour. “We are looking for the recurring guests,” Gruber sees no problem in it.
After spectacular walls were designed in the last anniversary year, especially Nychos 1060 square meters of masterpiece, which is probably the largest of its kind worldwide, Gruber and his team concentrate on the “experience in the port”.
