20,000 believers let their olive branches bless. As a greeting, the pilgrims gathered in Rome waved oil branches. These are reminiscent of Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem.

Officially, the Pope will not be present at the celebrations for Palm Sunday. However, it is not excluded that he could decide to show himself at the last moment – either at the end of the fair or to the Angelus prayer. As on all Sundays, the Angelus prayer has been published as a written text since the Pope was sent to the hospital and since its release from the hospital.

A procession of around 100 young people, bishops and cardinals moved on Sunday on St. Peter’s Square to the altar in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. St. Peter’s Square is decorated with flowers. Already in the days before the celebration, thousands of chairs were set up for visitors.
