“Bann broken”: For the first time since 2018, more home sales again

While the number of building permits in new buildings in the previous year, as reported, fell on a low, the Remax broker network reports on a trend reversal: the single-family market was the first to complete the “expected market rotation”.

In 2024, 9812 single -family houses were sold in Austria – 19.4 percent more than in the previous year. This emerges from the official land register, whose verbales Remax, together with the data service provider Immounited, regularly evaluates.

Since the record year 2018 with 12,689 single -family house sales, it had been going downhill, the 8221 transactions 2023.

“Even if the average from 2009 to 2023 is still a bit away at 10,481, at least the spell is broken, the trend is reversed and the single-family house market again in the upswing,” says Remax Austria boss Bernhard Reikersdorfer.
