“The flames could already be seen for miles, a meter -high flame wall has built up over the burning vehicle. We have actually not experienced such a bad vehicle fire for years.”
It was a coincidence that the FF Pichl firefighters were able to land very quickly at Wels at Wels. “We just came from an exercise in Kematen am Innbach and could be at the fire town in around seven minutes,” said Kraxberger. Nevertheless, the truck was already in full fire at this point.
“The stench was enormous”
“In the saddle tractor, plastic hoses and other rubber parts were stored, everything in total,” says the head of operations. “The stench was enormous.”
