Axie Infinity, NFT pet game, will arrive in Latin America for iPhone users. As a consequence, the price of AXS, its native token, skyrockets by more than 15%.
The announcement was made by Sky Mavis, the creator of the project that ensured that ‘Axie Infinity: Origins’ is being launched on the Apple App Store.
Among them, players will be able to download it in Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.
Apple since last year restricts how and where digital assets such as NFTs can be purchased using its devices. In this regard, Jeffrey Zirlin, co-founder of Sky Mavis, told The Block that although these rules currently represent a challenge, they are hopeful “that there will be progress in the future.”
The co-founders also highlighted that the launch on Apple is an important step for the growth of the game. The game garnered much of the attention during the pandemic, when its trading volume generated more than $4 billion.
Thanks to this news, AXS, the native token of Axie Infinity, registered a price increase on Wednesday. AXS shot up about 17% after the Apple launch announcement.
