AFIP extends the suspension period for tax enforcement proceedings for SMEs: how long does it last?

The government has temporarily frozen the initiation of legal proceedings to collect tax debts and the implementation of measures such as embargoes. All of this, in order to provide economic relief to certain sectors in the midst of the difficult context.

The Federal Public Revenue Administration(AFIP) issued the General Resolution 5532/2024 published this Friday in the Official Gazette and which established the suspension of fiscal execution trials and precautionary measures for micro, small and medium businesses (SMEs), individuals considered “small taxpayers”, non-profit entities and the health sector.

This means that the initiation of legal proceedings to collect tax debts and the implementation of measures such as seizures are temporarily halted, according to what was published in the Official Gazette.

According to him, the measure aims to provide economic relief for these sectors, especially given the context of crisis and economic difficulties.

Details of the standard

The original resolution established a suspension until July 31, 2024. However, due to the change introduced, it was decided to extend this period until December 31, 2024.
