The singer Britney Spears confirmed that the biopic about her life is not in the works. In early August it was reported that the American artist was in the process of developing her film with the director of Wicked, Jon M Chubased on his recent memoirs The Woman In Me.
“I’m excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt,” she wrote on social media at the time. “He’s always made my favorite movies… stay tuned.”
Now, however, Spears has clarified that the “secret project” will not be a biopic based on her life, but rather a kind of “fictional musical.” The “Baby One More Time” singer did not share more about the plot of the film, but did reveal that she will play “an extremely intelligent character.”
He also confirmed Jon Chu’s involvement in the project, writing: “It’s flattering to be in such good company as Jon Chu!”
