The Armed forces Bolivians reported in a statement that “irregular armed groups” took over the Cacique Juan Maraza regiment of Villa Tunari, in the Cochabamba Tropics and kidnapped “military personnel, weapons and ammunition.” Furthermore, they warn that “Whoever takes up arms against the country is considered treason and armed uprising.”
The event occurs in framework of the protests against the judicial cases opened against Evo Morales, which started 19 days ago, and from assassination attempt against the former president on October 27 while traveling on a route in his country.
