Dengue: the first autochthonous case was detected in Salta

While the Government is already monitoring the status of dengue at a strategic level, a new indigenous case of the disease was confirmed. This was detected in the province of Jumpas confirmed by the Ministry of Public Health of that province. This is an adult woman who started showing symptoms at the end of October. There are already more than five cases throughout the country.

The data arises more than a month into the period of intensified surveillance and the diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory. In the province there are already more than 220 suspected cases.

Salta confirmed its first case of indigenous dengue

More than a month into the period of intensified surveillance, the first indigenous case of dengue was confirmed in Salta. The first patient is an adult woman residing in the city of Salta, with no travel history. This implies that dengue is already in circulation and confirmation of more cases is anticipated.

The woman began with symptoms on October 30 and made the medical consultation in a private service on November 4. The diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory and the patient is undergoing outpatient treatment.

Upon confirmation, the Ministry of Public Health carries out the epidemiological investigation and blocking actions at the home of the infected person. The purpose is to prevent the spread of the disease.

Since the beginning of intensified surveillance, on September 29228 suspected cases of dengue have been reportedbecause they are patients with acute febrile syndrome.

He Ministry of Health of the Nation confirmed the first indigenous case of dengue in the City of Buenos Aires. This adds to the infections of this type in Mendoza, Córdoba, Tucumán and the province of Buenos Aires.

In the face of prevention against Dengue, the Ministry of Health of the Nation launched a situation room aimed at optimizing the monitoring of the disease in the country. This innovation is part of the Strategic Plan for Prevention and Control of Dengue 2024-2025.

This plan is in collaboration with the 24 provinces of the country and will have resources for intelligent data analysis, thus supporting strategic decisions in real time. The tool will allow provincial health teams to access updated and detailed information for each jurisdiction and department.
