Former prosecutor Germán Moldes He died in the last few hours at the age of 77. He had resigned from his position before the Buenos Aires Federal Chamber in 2019, after a surgical intervention.
His health had deteriorated in recent months. He will be laid to rest starting this afternoon in a funeral home on O’Higgins Street and his remains will be buried tomorrow in the private cemetery of Pilar.

He worked as an Advisor in the Criminal Legislation Commission of Deputies and in the National Chamber of Federal Criminal and Correctional Appeals, while he had stopped exercising his position five years ago.
The prosecutor was the one who, in 2016, opened a case against former vice president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and former chancellor Héctor Timerman “for treason to the country” and the following year he withdrew from the case that linked the head of the Federal Agency for Intelligence, Gustavo Arribas, who was related to the Brazilian corruption case called “Lava Jato” and accused of collecting bribes.
Likewise, it was related to the “Megacanje” case in which the current Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Federico Sturzenegger, was dismissed “due to the public debt perpetrated in 2001”, during the administration of President Fernando de la Rúa.
With a judicial career, he was appointed prosecutor by Carlos Menem in the 90s. Moldes had also been an official in his government: Secretary of Population of José Luis Manzano, in the Ministry of the Interior. He returned to the Judiciary in 1994, when he was appointed prosecutor before the Oral Economic Criminal Courts of the Capital.
In May 1995, he was appointed as a prosecutor in the Buenos Aires Federal Chamber, replacing Gustavo Hornos, who had been promoted to Criminal Cassation chambermaid.
