The Construction Workers Union of the Argentine Republic (UOCRA) reached a new joint agreement to recover the purchasing power of the sector, the most affected by the adjustment carried out by the Government this year, especially due to the stoppage of public works.

The agreement involves a 12.48% salary increase cumulative for the last quarter of 2024. In addition, they will receive a extraordinary non-remunerative bonus of $150,000which will be paid in three installments of $25,000.
The increase will be divided into three payments of around 4% each one, corresponding to October, November and December.
Another point that was resolved in the agreement was the creation of a permanent monitoring commission where the evolution of the inflation and will seek to maintain claims for salary adjustments if necessary. The union and the business chambers agreed that they will meet again on December 20, 2024 to analyze economic conditions and evaluate possible salary adjustments for 2025.
The agreement between the UOCRA and the chambers of the sector comes after weeks of negotiations between representatives of the union and construction businessmen, in a scenario marked by the need to balance the profitability of companies with salary demands.
In January of this same year, the union led by Gerardo Martinez had agreed with the cameras of the activity (Camarco and FAEC) a 20% salary increase only for that first month of the year, on account of the monthly price increase and with a permanent review scheme.
