An anniversary that seeks to recognize unpaid work in the home, done mostly by women.

He December 1st is commemorated in the Argentine Republic as Housewife’s Day. This type of work, for most of history, was not considered as such, being an unpaid task for those who performed it. But in 1958, the Housewives League established it with the objective of valuing the work done by women in taking care of homes.

The work of housewives was never recognized; according to statistics, they were always inactive people. Therefore, achieving recognition was a reason for historical struggle, mostly among women who were the most affected by the role they had to play in the family and in society.
