Tucumán: Osvaldo Jaldo inaugurated the Delfín Gallo prison complex

The governor of Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldoinaugurated this Wednesday the Delfín Gallo Penitentiary Complex, a work that involved an investment of $60,000,000, the one that defined how “a fundamental step to resolve the prison crisis” that the province faces.

Located on provincial route 303, The brand new complex has a capacity for 180 people and has 1,750 m² of construction, more than 3,900 m² of outdoor spaces.

At the opening ceremony, Jaldo assured: “Today we are officially opening up this prison complex, a fundamental step to resolve the prison crisis facing Tucumán.”

“The only truth is reality, and this is a concrete work, not just promises,” said Jaldo, who emphasized that the creation of this new complex is a direct result of the collaboration between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial powers,” he stated. .

At the same time, the president also stressed that the fight against prison overpopulation is a challenge at the national and federal level, and that Tucumán has managed to advance in this aspect thanks to joint work with judges, prosecutors and security forces.

“This is not just a problem for Tucumán, it is a national problem, but we have taken the responsibility of solving it here and today we take the first step with the authorization of this complex,” he explained.

“With the inauguration of this complex, Tucumán takes an important step towards the modernization of its prison system and the optimization of security throughout the province,” he said.

Finally, Jaldo reaffirmed his commitment to the security of the province, ensuring that the government will continue working on preventive security policies and strengthening the capacity of the judicial system.

“We are committed to improving the quality of life of the people of Tucumán, and today we give a clear example that we are serious,” he concluded.

Also present were the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Daniel Leiva; the members, Antonio Daniel Estofán and Claudia Beatriz Sbdar; the president of the Association of the Judiciary and the Judicial Function of Tucumán, Marcela Ruiz, and the prosecutor Chamber, Estela Giffoniello.

In mid-October, Osvaldo Jaldo had received the Minister of National Security in Tucumán, Patricia Bullrichwith whom he toured the works at the Benjamín Paz penitentiary, located in Trancas. The deputy chief of staff also participated in the event, Lisandro Catalána native of the province.

Until now, The work on the new penitentiary was 63.92% complete in its first stage, consolidating itself as one of the most important projects in the modernization of the province’s prison system.

On the occasion, the governor highlighted that “thanks to dialogue and collaboration with the National Government, we are advancing in the construction of new prison facilities.” At the same time, he thanked President Javier Milei and the officials who accompany him today “for their commitment to Tucumán.”

The updated amount of the work is $24,554,017,597.88 and partial delivery will be in December of this year with 67.00% progress.

In this first stage, four pavilions would be delivered, with electrical, water, sewage and gas infrastructure. The central area is made up of access to control, administration, zoom sectors, visiting sector, kitchen, production workshops and health areas with the capacity to house 900 inmates in this first stage.
