Paul McCartney confirmed that he will release a new album by 2025

Paul McCartney revealed that one of his 2025 New Year’s resolutions is to finish a new album.

The former Beatle, who just wrapped up his 2024 “Got Back” tour, posted a Q&A on his official website, answering fans’ end-of-year questions. Topics ranged from his plans for the holiday season and what he is most grateful for. A fan asked McCartney if he has any New Year’s resolutions for 2025.

The musician responded: “Here’s one: finishing an album! I’ve been working on a lot of songs and I’ve had to put it aside because of the tour. So I hope to get back to that and finish a lot of these songs. What do you think? ‘My New Year’s resolution is to finish a new album!'”

His last solo album was ‘McCartney III’ of 2020, the long-awaited continuation of ‘McCartney I’ from 1970 and ‘McCartney II’ from 1980.

While McCartney has no more shows scheduled for 2025, he ended his final London show on December 19 by saying “See you next time.”

He also invited his Beatles bandmate, Ringo Starralready Ronnie Woodof the Rolling Stones. Midway through his set, McCartney introduced “Get Back” by talking about his old bass that was stolen from him over 50 years ago, before it was finally returned to him in early February.

As he brandished it on stage, he revealed that it was the bass’s first appearance on stage since it disappeared: “I haven’t played it in 50 years.”

McCartney continued, preparing for another surprise: “And what’s more, we have a special guest for you here. A Rolling Stone. “Ronnie Wood”. As Wood headed to the stage, the two dove into ‘Get Back.’

During the encore segment of the show, McCartney told the audience, followed by deafening applause: “We have another surprise for you. Bring to the stage the mighty, the one and only Mr. Ringo Starr”.

McCartney joked as Starr walked in: “Should we rock? “Put on your kit la.” Then the two delved into two Beatles classics, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)’ and ‘Helter Skelter’.
